A List Of 4 Proven Time Management Techniques

Efficient time management boils down to a matter of right determination of priorities for better productivity. Below are 4 proven time management strategies regarding identifying and chasing the proper priorities.

1. The ABC Approach. The ABC tecnique is actually inspired by data management tactics. The ABC tecnique involves classifying duties in agreement with their priorities. Tasks of superior priorities will be grouped under A. Duties of lesser priorities will be grouped under B. Duties of minor priorities will be grouped under C. The point is to accomplish all of the duties under A before one can progress to the duties under B. The duties under C can only be taken up the moment the duties under the previous 2 clusters have already been accomplished. This time management technique will guarantee that one won't waste his time on worthless doings.

2. The 80-20 tecnique . This is also coined as the Pareto Analysis method. The method works under the supposition that 80% of productivity comes from 20% of task done. The other 20% of productivity will come from 80% of the task done. The method demands for determination and prioritization of the 20% task that will make 80% productivity.

3. The rule of correspondence. It is believed that there will always be a different group of accesible resources (which involves labor, talents and most importantly, time) for a particular duty. The rule of correspondence assigns that the duty that is most suitable of a particular group of accesible resources should be given priority. For example, there are 2 tasks that should be accomplished, one which requires 5 minutes and the other which requires 10 minutes. If your workers has 10 minutes to spare, why would you assign to them the duty that requires 5 minutes, right?

4. Reduce downtime. A lot of time management issues stem from unlimited or unwarranted downtime. One efficient time management technique is to be strict about downtime. If the time off is only for 30 minutes, make sure labor restarts precisely after 30 minutes. Promptness is the key to effective time management, and downtimes are not excused from this rule.
